Dixie worked in both public and private sector information technology for over 15 years. Her employers included a Fortune 500 insurance company and a Big-10 University (University of Wisconsin-Madison). Her roles included:

• software - project management; systems analysis; application, interface, and database design; programming; testing; implementation
• technical writing
• technical training and instructional media development

Dixie has extensive background in both graphic design and web design. She has designed and maintained both private and public websites since 1997.
